EGR Valve: Service and Repair

11 71 501 Remove and install/replace exhaust-gas recirculation valve (M57T2)







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove acoustic cover







Unlock connector (1) and remove.
Unclip cable clip (5).
Unlock snap fastener (4) on pressure pipe.
Detach pressure pipe from exhaust-gas recirculation valve.
Pull off vacuum hose (2).
Release V-clamp (3).
Tightening torque 11 71 1AZ.

Installation note:
Replace V-clamp (3).
Do not install the pipe for the exhaust-gas recirculation with voltage.
Loosely assemble all components first.
Fasten V-clamps.
Then secure the bordering components with the specified tightening torque.







Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 11 71 3AZ.
Remove exhaust-gas recirculation valve towards front.







Installation note:
Clean sealing surfaces.
Replace gasket (1).
When the exhaust-gas circulation valve is replaced, the throttle valve must be modified.







Assemble engine.
