DDE: Air-mass flow sensor: Wrong signal

Fault description
The diagnostic trouble code is logged in the ECU when the
idle correction factor for the measured air mass exceeds the
approved limit 0.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The test routine is executed continuously. However, a new
correction factor is calculated only once per driving cycle,
and provided that this function is enabled based on
environmental conditions and the current operating point.

Condition for fault memory entry
No debouncing.None.

Action in service
Check for leaks in mass airflow system between the mass-
airflow sensor and the intake manifold/plenum.
If the mass airflow system is sealed:
Replace mass-airflow sensor.

Fault effect and breakdown warning
The error disables regeneration in the particulate filter.
Proceed to the nearest BMW Service facility.
