36 00 ... Checking Tyre Inflation Pressure
36 00 ... Checking tyre inflation pressureNote:
Through natural air diffusion, a tyre loses approx. 0.05 bar per month, which is about 0.03 bar inflation pressure after 6 months.
Driving with low pressure negatively impacts fuel consumption and tyre wear, particularly the tendency of run-flat tyres to wear unevenly and experience increased abrasion.
In addition, extremely low inflation pressure can adversely affect driving stability or cause tyre damage and thus accidents.
Checking inflation pressure (at least twice a month and prior to long trips) as well as adjusting it to the load status of the vehicle is necessary.
Checking tyre inflation pressure:
The pressure information for the approved tyre sizes are located on the driver's door post.
If the tyre's speed rating letter is not listed, the inflation pressure for the particular size, such as 255/45, appliesR17.
When towing a trailer, the higher load inflation pressure listed in the pressure information applies.
The pressure information applies to tyre sizes approved and makes recommended by BMW.
For vehicles with a Run Flat Indicator, the indicator must be initialised after completing repair work.
