SUBJECT
Fuel Injector Faults

MODEL
E70 with the M57Y produced to May 2012

SITUATION
The engine may lose power with an illuminated "Service Engine Soon" lamp. One or more of the following fault codes are stored:

^ 4460 cylinder 6 injector, actuation

^ 4450 cylinder 5 injector, actuation

^ 4440 cylinder 4 injector, actuation

CAUSE
Water from a leaking joint in the engine compartment partition wall has dripped onto the fuel injector electrical connectors.

CORRECTION
Replace any fuel injectors that are faulty and repair/replace any wire terminals damaged from the moisture ingress. Reseal the engine compartment partition wall following Repair Instruction 51 71 "Sealing the units compartment partition wall, top center."
