Dynamic Drive: Pre-Drive Check
Brief description
With each engine start and at a standstill after driving (e.g. at traffic lights), the pre-drive check is carried out automatically. The pre-drive check is a simple and quick test (< 1 s) in which the increase in pressure is checked. As a rule, the driver does not perceive that the pre-drive check is running. The aim of the pre-drive check is to detect a faulty safety valve or front axle pressure control valve before a journey begins. These faults are a safety risk to the driver while the vehicle is being driven.
Starting the pre-drive check
Requirements for starting a pre-drive check:
- Vehicle at a standstill, engine on
- No electrical sensor or valve faults in the Dynamic Drive
Terminating the pre-drive check
Inhibitors for a pre-drive check:
- Undervoltage
- Electrical sensor or valve faults
- Status of direction valve incorrect
- Message faults for engine speed or road speed
- Engine speed too low (< 350 rpm)
