Please explain the current concept of the pedestrian detection function to the customer.
Also refer to the Owner's Manual (pages 117 to 119).
Current concept of the pedestrian detection feature:
The pedestrian detection function only operates when it is dark. It can only be activated and deactivated manually when the ambient light is dark.
The pedestrian detection function will switch itself off automatically when the vehicle is driven in daylight, even when the pedestrian detection function was activated manually the night before.
When driving the next time that it is dark, the pedestrian detection system does not switch itself back on automatically. It must be switched on again manually.
Note:
The pedestrian detection function cannot be activated in daylight.
Procedure for how to activate/deactivate the pedestrian detection function:
1. Switch on the Night Vision system with pedestrian detection function via the button on the left side of the dashboard.
2. Press the controller when the Night Vision image is active in the control display.
3. Select the desired "Pedestrian detection" menu from the list next to the image.
4. Press the controller to activate the pedestrian detection function.
5. The check mark next to the "pedestrian detection" icon shows that the function is active.
