Telephone In The Rear - Currently Known Fault Patterns

The functional description describes currently known fault patterns for the telephone in the rear for the following vehicles:
- F01, F02 (BMW 7 Series)

The telephone in the rear can be installed as an optional extra in addition to the familiar hands-free systems. The telephone in the rear consists of a snap-in adapter and a handset. The snap-in adapter can be connected via Bluetooth with the hands-free system installed in the vehicle.

The telephone in the rear enables calls in the hands-free mode as well as in the private mode.

Known fault patterns of the telephone in the rear
The fault patterns are grouped in relation to content. The fault patterns are described in the left-hand column of the following tables. Possible remedial measures and general data are provided in the right-hand column.

Information on mobile phones
- SIM Access Profile (SAP)
The SAP profile can be used to pair a mobile phone with the handset. SAP enables the snap-in adapter of the telephone in the rear to access the SIM card of the mobile phone via Bluetooth.

- Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP)
To transfer the internal telephone book of the mobile phone to the handset and Control Display, the mobile phone that is used must support PBAP. The PBAP function can only be supported by SAP mobile phones.
