Removing and Installing/Replacing Starter Motor (N62/N62TU)

12 41 020 - Removing and installing/replacing starter motor (N54)





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read out fault memory of DME control unit
- Switch off ignition
- Disconnect battery negative lead Disconnecting and Connecting Battery Negative Lead
- Remove intake air manifold Service and Repair





Unlock plug (1) and remove.
Release nut (2) and disconnect battery positive lead (3).
Tightening torque 12 42 2AZ 12 42 Alternator Lead.
Release bolts and remove starter motor.
Tightening torque 12 41 1AZ 12 41 Starter Motor With Mounting.





Installation:
Check starter pinion and ring gear for damage, replace starter motor if necessary.
