Replacing A/C Compressor Drive Belt

11 28 050 - Removing and installing/replacing drive belt (elastobelt) for A/C compressor (M57TU / M57T2)





Special tools required:
- 11 0 330 11 0 330 Assembly Tool
- 11 0 331 11 0 330 Assembly Tool
- 11 0 332 11 0 330 Assembly Tool






Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove front splash guard.
- If necessary, release bracket on A/C compressor.





Crank engine in direction of engine rotation.
At the same time, pull off drive belt (2) towards front in direction of arrow using a clean cloth (1).
Remove drive belt (1) towards front.





Special tool 11 0 330 11 0 330 Assembly Tool is required to fit the elastobelt.
1. Installation tool 11 0 331 11 0 330 Assembly Tool
2. Adapter ring 11 0 332 11 0 330 Assembly Tool (use only on M47TU / M47TU2 engine)





Fit drive belt (1) on A/C compressor.
Draw drive belt (1) with special tool 11 0 331 11 0 330 Assembly Tool onto belt pulley in direction of arrow.






Installation:
Check drive belt for coolant and oil residues, replace if necessary.
Observe direction of rotation if reusing the drive belt.
