54 34 331 - Removing and installing/replacing left or right cowl panel seal rail





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove cowl panel seal 51 71 120 Removing and Installing/Replacing Cowl Panel Seal





Warning!
Soft top becomes pressureless without a warning signal.
For all work, secure soft top with a suitable support tool against collapsing.
Ensure Convertible top is supported in the middle.
Ignition must remain switched off during the repair work.
Failure to comply with this instruction may result in the hydraulic valves incurring preliminary damage.





Release screw (1) on roofliner.





Important!
Before releasing nuts, make a note of the number of spacers at the respective screw fastening point.
Soft top is taught in at the factory.

Release combination nuts (1).

Carefully remove roof frame with spacers.





Installation:
Roof frame with front seal must be flush with middle window guide.
Adjust roof frame by means of spacers (refer to BMW Parts Service).
Side windows must run into seal correctly and rest in seal over entire width.
Check function.
Check adjustment of side window Adjustments and adjust if necessary.
