SUBJECT
Noises from the Glove Box Area

MODEL
E82, E88 (1 Series) produced up to 12/2008

SITUATION
A rattling noise may be heard from the glove box area when driving over rough surfaces.

CAUSE
This may be caused by:

1. The glove box shock absorber

2. The glove box cover making contact with the inner shell of the glove box.

[NEW] INFORMATION

The problem has been integrated into ISTA diagnostics. Follow the diagnosis test plan using the latest ISTA version. In "Information Search", select the "Function Structure" tab. Select "Body, Mechanism, Noises, Dashboard and center console noises", and then press "Start Search". Select test plan "B5116_E87MECH1 Dashboard and center console noises".

Refer to ISTA diagnosis for the required repair procedure.

Covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

Refer to the KSD2 to code the repair performed as prescribed by ISTA diagnosis results.
