Fault Pattern for CIC
On the Central Information Computer (CIC), fault patterns that are not registered by fault memory entries can occur alongside the possible fault memory entries. The following table lists the most frequent fault patterns.
General
No. Symptom
001 Whistling / grinding noises from the CIC. High-frequency whistling, rattling.
002 DVD or CD cannot be played or is not recognized.
003 Problems after replacement of a CIC:
- Screen shifted
- No SVS function
- No acoustic signals
- No audio output
004 Problems with USB port in the glove box
005 Sporadic resets
- CIC restarts
- Black screen
- No audio output
006 Currently played track and folder cannot be deleted.
007 At music collection, No entry is displayed, although there are tracks on the hard disk.
008 Personal data and settings cannot be deleted or only individual items can be deleted.
Operation

101 Front panel partially or completely without function.
102 Controller partially or completely without function.
103 The setting options for air distribution in the Climate menu are inadequate.
104 SVS unavailable. No reaction after button pressure on the steering wheel.
105 During playback of directly played tracks, a search in other directories is not possible.
106 If the engine is off and the CIC is switched on, the screen stays black.
Display

201 Sporadic red, green or blue screen and restart of CIC.
202 After calling up the Telephone menu, the screen "Select phone number" appears instead of the last selected screen.
203 After a restart, the list "All stations" is active instead of the previously selected list Stored stations.
205 - Display of the navigation map only in black and white
- Nighttime mode cannot be activated
Audio

301 Problems with playback of audio files.
302 Poor signal or no signal from AUX-IN port.
303 Sporadic loss of audio output.
304 Setting the volume of gong, navigation and PDC is faulty. After exiting from the Settings menu, the volume is not adopted.
305 The volume of the gong, navigation, PDC and traffic information is too loud or too quiet.
306 No voice output with navigation or SVS.

402 Navigation fault;
- No positioning

403 Turn-off information is only rarely displayed or not at all.
405 With the scale display "AUTO", junctions and turn-off instructions are not enlarged.
