Fault Patterns For Malfunction In Naviation System Professional

The navigation system Professional (CCC) is a complex control module with a large number of possible fault patterns. The following list shows known symptoms in the functional area CCC audio and navigation. Fault patterns from the functional areas of telephone and Telematic services as well as integrated climate control are not covered in this test module.

Navigation

No. Symptom
401 Sporadic fault: navigation fault due to loss of position
402 Frequent navigation faults due to loss of position:
- frequent position jumps
- vehicle position is not updated
- incorrect location
403 No VIA destinations can be entered.
Only one destination can be entered, intermediate destinations are not possible.
404 TMC information is displayed in such an abbreviated form that some information is invisible.
409 No positioning after vehicle programming
411 Navigation DVD is not recognized
412 The calculated estimated time of arrival is imprecise or changes frequently.

General

No. Symptom
001 Whistling / grating noises from the CCC. High-frequency whistling, rattling.
002 DVD or CD cannot be played or is not recognized.
003 Problems after replacement of a CCC:
- screen shifted
- no SVS function
- no acoustic signals
- no audio outputs
- other problems
004 Sporadic resets: black screen and new start; no sound during this time (approx. 1 min.)
006 Display switches between BMW logo and black screen or remains stuck at the BMW logo.
008 Position of the track and track time of the CD is not retained. This occurs after a terminal change, after termination of a telephone call or switching the audio source.
010 No retrofit of the iPod is possible
011 Navigation DVD label comes loose
013 Implausible gong
014 SVS outputs speed limit in kilometers instead of in miles
016 Not possible to change the user interface to the desired language
018 CD / DVD does not eject

Operation

No. Symptom
101 The top left rotary control on the CCC wobbles or hangs off to the side. CCC cannot be properly operated.
104 Radio control without function
105 Operation of the controller seems sluggish
107 CCC hang up. Operation of the CCC is no longer possible.
108 SVS inputs of letters and numbers using voice are not detected correctly
111 CCC failure after navigation system destination input via voice recognition system (SVS)

Display

No. Symptom
201 Navigation, Japan: shifted navigation screen after programming with Progman V23. No TV picture when changing from the map view to TV.
202 In the radio station lists, only frequencies and no RDS names are displayed. In some cases, this behaviour varies when a number of ignition keys are used
205 The scale on the map view cannot be set below 100 m.
206 Navigation, Japan: NAV/TV screen turns pink.
207 Green TV picture on Asia vehicles
208 In Japanese version of navigation, display language changes to English of its own accord
210 Status bar flashes although CID is switched off
212 Screen misalignment / flickering after programming
215 E87 Navigation Japan: flickering display in the Navigation menu

CCC Audio

302 The audio playback does not stop when the vehicle is left and locked.
303 Muting does not work correctly or sometimes disables itself
304 The TP traffic information announcements are regularly output at different volumes.
308 Not all MP3 CDs are played:
- MP3Pro
- variable bit rates
- CD-MRW - Super audio layer with SA-CD
309 With option 677 TOP HI-FI: after navigation instruction, no interior sound
310 Short breaks in all audio sources.
312 Occasional high-frequency whistling noise in the radio mode
314 Depending on the vehicle electrics and volume, humming noise / buzz with Aux IN
319 Radio switches to mute in the VHF mode at certain intervals

Telephone

No. Symptom
501 The convenience functions 'call waiting' and 'conference' do not work in CCC vehicles.
503 No change into the active navigation window after a telephone call.
