Replacing The Stabilizer

Cause:

Clear clattering noises from the front area of the vehicle. During changes of direction on level roads or when driving straight ahead over rough roads.

NOTE: The vehicles affected are all E70s with active roll stabilization.

Repair instructions:
In the event of a customer complaint, use the following procedure:
- With active roll stabilization and pressure relief valve: ensure that the protective caps (red) have been removed from the pressure relief valve.
- With active roll stabilization and pressure relief valve: Ensure that the filter element on the pressure relief valve is not soiled or oiled.
- Ensure that the valve block corresponds to the specification; run 'Commissioning Dynamic Drive'.
- Only replace the stabilizer if no other cause can be determined.

Repair note:
- The conversion must be carried out with program V29.0 or higher. In the menu item Conversion/Retrofit and the Stabilizer button.
- Stabilizer with external add-on parts is replaced by an optimized stabilizer without add-on parts.
- The optimized stabilizer will be available as of approx. May 2008.
