To make localizing the noises on the front axle suspension easier, two tests on the vehicle have proved helpful.

1. Check during a change of direction
Slight steering angle changes around the centre position on a level road.
- Bumping or knocking noises.
- From what area (car front end, footwell) to the noises appear to come.
- Does the noise become louder as the temperature increases.

2. Check with straight-ahead driving
The steering wheel remains virtually in the middle position when driving over road irregularities.
- Rattling noises.
- From what area (car front end, footwell) to the noises appear to come.
- Does the noise become louder as the temperature increases.
