18 32 050 - Removing and installing/replacing catalytic exhaust-gas converter for cylinders 1-3 (N54)





Special tools required:
- 18 0 110 Tools and Equipment





Warning!
Scalding hazard!

Only perform these tasks after exhaust system has cooled down.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove underbody protection
- Remove exhaust system. Service and Repair
- Remove oxygen sensor 11 78 513 Replacing Both Oxygen Control Sensors
- Remove both monitor sensors 11 78 613 Replacing Both Lambda Oxygen Monitor Sensors
- Remove right engine mount Replacing Right Engine Mount
- Remove heat shield





Unscrew nuts (1).

Tightening torque 18 20 2AZ 18 20 Exhaust System Suspension.

Unscrew screws (2).

Tightening torque 18 20 6AZ 18 20 Exhaust System Suspension.

Bracket remove.





Unfasten clip. In so doing, secure catalytic converter (1) against falling out.

Remove catalytic converter (1).

Installation Note:
Clean sealing face and replace seal.

Tightening torque 18 30 3AZ [1][2]18 31 Exhaust Pipe With Catalytic Converter / Complete System.





Installation Note:
Secure installation position of catalytic exhaust-gas converter with special tool

18 0 110 Tools and Equipment.

Add final details to vehicle.
