Lack of Power
Complaint Regarding Lack Of Power
The turbocharging is switched off in the case of fault memory entries for the following engine components:
- Catalytic converter
- Intake air temperature sensor or charge-air temperature / charge-air pressure sensor
- Knock sensor
- Intake camshaft sensor
- Exhaust camshaft sensor
- Rail pressure sensor
- Fuel pump
- Volume control valve of the high-pressure fuel pump
- Charge-air-pressure control
- Engine management system (internal control-module fault)
If complaint concerns a lack of power although no fault memory entry has been saved for the above-mentioned components in the engine management system, the diagnosis function for the engine management system must be used to carry an exact check of the turbocharger.
The result of this check indicates the functional capability of the turbocharging. The recorded diagnosis report should be shown to the customer to explain the state of the turbocharging.
