61 12 013 - Replacing battery negative lead

Observe notes on power supply / on intelligent battery sensor (IBS).





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove luggage compartment mat, luggage compartment floor panel and tray insert cover
- Remove right luggage compartment wheel arch trim





Remove underlay for floor panel (1).
Loosen nut (2). Tightening torque 61 21 1AZ [1][2]Mechanical Specifications.

Important!
Do not under any circumstances use force to pull off pole shoe.
Do not under any circumstances release socket-head cap screw of IBS.

Detach battery negative lead (5) with IBS in upward direction from battery.
If necessary, disconnect plug connection (3).
Disconnect plug connection (4) for IBS.
Release nut (6) and disconnect battery negative lead (5). Tightening torque 61 21 2AZ [1][2]Mechanical Specifications.
