Center Mounted Brake Lamp: Service and Repair

63 25 000 - Removing and installing/replacing supplementary brake light (from 09/07)





Important!
Read and comply with notes on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD protection) 61 35 ... Notes on ESD Protection (Electro Static Discharge).





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove panel for rear lid





Disconnect plug connection (1).
Unscrew nuts (2). Tightening torque 63 25 1AZ Stop/Brake Lights.
Remove pressure springs (3) and washers (4).
Unlock locking hooks (6) and remove supplementary brake light (5) in outward direction from rear lid.

Installation Note:
Make sure seal is correctly seated on supplementary brake light (5).
Locking hooks (6) must not be damaged or missing.
Make sure locking hooks (6) are correctly engaged on rear lid.
Tighten nuts (2) from inside outwards.
