Water Pump: Service and Repair

11 51 000 - Removing and installing / replacing water pump (S85)





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove fan cowl with electronic fan.
- Remove radiator.
- Remove A/C compressor drive belt Replacing A/C Compressor Drive Belt.
- Remove alternator drive belt Replacing Alternator Drive Belt.
- Remove belt tensioner Removing and Installing/Replacing Belt Tensioner for A/C Compressor for A/C compressor.





Release screw (1).
Remove idler pulley (2).
Release screws (4).
Remove belt pulley (3).





Release screw (1) of VANOS high-pressure line.





Release banjo bolt (1).

Installation:
Replace all sealing rings.

Tightening torque. 11 36 5AZ 11 36 Variable Camshaft Control VANOS.

Release screws (2).





Pull bracket (1) with VANOS high-pressure line upwards until coolant pump (3) is freely accessible.
Insert bolts (2) of coolant pump (3).
Screw in bolts (2) uniformly in 1/2 turns.
Remove coolant pump (3) towards front.





Assemble engine.
Vent cooling system Venting Cooling System and Checking for Water Leaks and check for leaks.
