51 71 479 - Removing and installing/replacing all reinforcement struts on rear axle (M5, M6)





Special tools required:
- 00 9 120 00 9 120 Torque Angle Measuring Dial





Important!
Observe safety instructions 00 .. ... Lifting Vehicle With A Lifting Platform for raising the vehicle.

Do not drive vehicle without tension strut installed; failure to comply with this instruction will result in damage to the body!

Tension strut screws must be tightened to torque and then tightened down with special tool 00 9 120 00 9 120 Torque Angle Measuring Dial.





Tension strut, left/right:

Release screws (1 to 5).

Remove tension strut (6).

Installation Note:
Replace screws (2 to 5).

Tightening torques:

(3) - 51 61 5AZ [1][2]Specifications
(4) - 51 61 4AZ [1][2]Specifications
(5) - 51 61 3AZ [1][2]Specifications





Tension strut, front left/right:

Unclip cover (1).

Release screws (2) and remove tension strut (3).

Installation Note:
Replace screws (2).

Tightening torques 51 61 4AZ [1][2]Specifications.





Tension strut, rear left/right:

Release screws (1) and remove tension strut (2).

Installation Note:
Replace screws (1).

Tightening torques 51 61 5AZ [1][2]Specifications.
