Removing and Installing Vane Pump (N62, N62TU) for Power Steering (From 10/03)




32 41 060 - Removing and installing vane pump (N62, N62TU) for power steering (from 10/03)





Important!
Adhere to the utmost cleanliness. Do not allow any dirt to enter the hydraulic system.
Seal off pipe connections with plugs.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Draw off and dispose off hydraulic fluid from fluid reservoir
- Remove drive belt Replacing Alternator Drive Belt
- Remove front assembly underside protection Removing and Installing/Replacing Front Underbody Protection





Release hose clamp and detach suction line (1) from vane pump.

Installation Note:
Align suction line (1) by way of marking to connection on vane pump.

Release nut and disconnect pressure line (2) from vane pump.

Installation Note:
Replace sealing ring.
Make sure hydraulic lines are laid without tension and with sufficient spacing to adjoining components.
Tightening torque 32 41 3AZ Pump and Oil Supply.





Variant (A) - build date up to 05/04:
Release screws (1, 2).
Tightening torque 32 41 1AZ Pump and Oil Supply.
Remove vane pump.
Variant (B) - build date from 05/04:
Release bolt (1) and nut (2).
Remove vane pump.

Installation Note:
Replace self-locking nut.
Tightening torque 32 41 1AZ Pump and Oil Supply.





After installation:
- Fill and bleed hydraulic system Bleeding Power Steering Unit
- Check pipe connections for leaks
