Fuel Injector: Service and Repair
13 64 593 - Removing and installing/replacing all fuel injectors (N73)
Special tools required:
- 11 0 171
- 11 0 172
- 11 0 173
- 11 0 174
- 11 0 175
- 13 1 430 13 1 430 Adapter
- 13 5 250 13 5 250 Extractor
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove manifold Service and Repair.
- Remove both fuel rails Service and Repair.
Disconnect plug connection (1).
Release screws (3).
Important!
Do not open screws of locking washers (2).
Remove fuel injector holder (4).
Tightening torque: 13 53 4AZ 13 53 Fuel Injection Nozzles and Pipes.
Fit special tool 13 1 430 13 1 430 Adapter on fuel injectors.
Screw special tool 13 5 250 13 5 250 Extractor onto special tool 13 1 430 13 1 430 Adapter.
Drive out fuel injectors with counterweight in direction of arrow.
Installation:
These tasks are only necessary if the fuel injector is not replaced.
The Teflon rings must be replaced.
Remove Teflon ring (2) with special tool 11 0 171 from injector (1).
Attach new Teflon ring (1) to special tools 11 0 172 and 11 0 173.
Using special tools 11 0 172 / 11 0 173, preassemble Teflon ring (1) with special tool 11 0 174.
Installation:
Assembly position
Fit special tool 11 0 172 with preassembled Teflon ring (2) on injector (1).
Prepare special tool 11 0 175.
Press injector (1) into special tool 11 0 175.
Assemble engine.
Installation:
Check function of DME.
