Front Door Limiter: Service and Repair

51 21 280 - Removing and installing/replacing door brake on left or right front door





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Close door windows
- Remove sound insulation in front area only





Note:
Secure front door against falling closed.

Lever out seal (1).

Unfasten screws (2 and 3).

Installation:
E60/E61 tightening torque:
(2) - 51 21 9AZ 51 21 Front Door Locks
(3) - 51 21 10AZ 51 21 Front Door Locks
E70 tightening torque:
(2) - 51 21 3AZ
(3) - 51 21 4AZ





Remove door brake (1) via cutout (2).





Installation:
Following parts of door retainer (3) must not be damaged:
1 - Hinge
2 - Thread





Installation:
Seal (1) must not be damaged.
