SUBJECT
Rear Windows Inoperative After Junction Box Replacement
MODEL
E93 (3 Series Convertible) produced up to [NEW] 9/2007
SITUATION
One or both of the rear windows are intermittently inoperative after the vehicle has had the Junction Box Electronics (JBE) replaced for any reason. No relevant fault codes are stored. This situation does not affect cars that still have the factory-installed JBE.
CAUSE
Software error in the JBE
[NEW] PROCEDURE
It is not necessary to replace any parts.
Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.33.0 or later.
Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
