Repair instruction for whizzing noises from the area of the Central Information Display (CID)

Complaint
Whizzing noises from the CID folding mechanism when driving on poor road surfaces.

Cause: Burrs on the aperture of the CID folding mechanism. See Fig.

Repair instruction
Remove the Central Information Display in accordance with repair instructions RA6550055.

Use a suitable tool to remove the plastic burrs on the aperture of the dashboard for the CID folding mechanism. See Fig. 1.

Fit the Central Information Display in accordance with repair instructions RA6550055.

Series solution
Since 12.02.2007, corresponding measures have been introduced to deburr the positions concerned in series production.







Use a suitable tool to remove the plastic burrs (1) on both sides of the aperture of the dashboard.
