Water Entry At The Front Roof Bow Seal

If the seal on the front roof bow is not correctly mounted, water can enter.

Check the location of the seal on the front roof bow for the following characteristics. Also refer to the illustrations.
1. Seal of front roof bow left/right offset
2. Gap between the roof bow seal and convertible top fabric
3. Rework the seal
4. Check seating of seal

1 Seal left/right offset

2 Gap between seal and convertible top fabric

3 Rework the seal
- Correctly position the seal
- Open and close the convertible top a number of times to ensure that no new gap has formed at the seal
- If a new gap forms, the clamp profile of the seal must be pressed together with a suitable tool, see illustration
- Replace the seal

4 Check seating of the seal
- The highest fabric tension applies when the convertible top is positioned shortly before the cowl panel and can be locked
- In this convertible top position, check that the seal does not slip again, see illustration
