Convertible Top Hydraulic Hose: Service and Repair



54 34 205 Removing And Installing/Replacing All Hydraulic Lines On Convertible Top

IMPORTANT:
- Hydraulic fluid may emerge from the disconnected lines and the open connections on the hydraulic cylinder.
- Protect components and work area with suitable materials (e.g. absorbent protective cover).
- Have cleaning cloths ready to wipe away escaping oil.


Follow repair instructions for hydraulic system.

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove convertible top
- Detach lines from hydraulic unit







Detaching lines from hydraulic cylinder:

Connection, top
- Left line 12, right line 14
- Detach clip
- Pull line carefully out of cylinder

Connection, bottom
- Left line 11, right line 13
- Release screw (1).
- Replace tab washer (2).
- Pull line (3) carefully out of cylinder.

If necessary, cut cable tie (4).
Disconnect hydraulic lines for right and left sides (insulating tape).







Installation:
Line 12 or 14 at upper connection (clip).
Line 11 or 13 at lower connection (plate).
Pay attention to routing of lines:

- Left (A):
Secure opposite each other with 2 cable ties (K)

- Right (B):
First secure opposite each other with 2 cable ties (K), then feed upper line with a loop (x = 100 cm) upwards again.







Installation:
Make sure lines are completely inserted into cylinder. The edge of the line bead (1) must be below the cylinder edge (2).
Make sure the clip (3) or the plate (4) is correctly seated on the connections.







For right hydraulic lines only:
Release screws in area (1) on sealing frame.
Feed lines out of cable holder.
