SUBJECT
Airbag Warning Lamp Illuminated - FC 93D2

MODEL
E70 (X5)

SITUATION
The airbag warning lamp is illuminated and fault code 93D2 (Telltale lamp for front passenger airbag deactivation - open circuit) is stored in the ACSM2 (Advanced Crash Safety Module).

CAUSE
Wiring fault, or faulty FZD (Roof Functions Center)

INFORMATION
The fault 93D2 relates to the monitoring circuit of the Passenger Airbag Status Lamp (POL). The circuit comprises the FZD (which contains the POL), the ACSM2 and the wire that connects them both.

PROCEDURE
Using DISPlus/GT1, complete any relevant test plans.

For situations where the fault is intermittent and currently not present, check the wire and wire connections at pin 7, X14288 (FZD) and pin 34, X18069 (ACSM2). Attempt to duplicate the fault by wiggle testing the wire at each connector. Correct any identified wiring faults.

If no wiring fault is identified, replace the FZD.

If the appropriate labor operation is not contained in KSD, then a work time labor operation should be used.
