^ Intermittently, the steering column moves in the wrong direction. For example, the switch is moved in the "up" direction, but the steering column moves in the "out" direction.

CAUSE
Corrupted data stored when writing data to the IHKA (Integrated automatic heating and air-conditioning system) control module during vehicle assembly. The corruption was caused by voltage fluctuation.

PROCEDURE
Program the vehicle using the latest Progman version. Refer to B 09 05 01 (Coding, Individualization and Programming), Procedure B. Check the Measures Plan or Final Report to confirm that the IHKA has been programmed.

If the IHKA did not get programmed, program the IHKA using Special Measures, in order to overwrite the content of the IHKA memory.

WARRANTY INFORMATION
Covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

Please refer to the latest KSD for all applicable labor operations and allowances.

If the appropriate labor operation is not contained in KSD, then a work time labor operation should be used.
