Front Interior IHKA Blower Makes Grinding Noise

SITUATION
The customer states that when the IHKA (Integrated Heating and Air Conditioning) blower is in use, a grinding/ratcheting sound can be heard from behind the glove compartment.
CAUSE
Blower motor cage contacting housing
PROCEDURE
1. Duplicate customer complaint
2. Remove and inspect blower assembly as per Repair manual RA 64 11 212
3. Check the clearance between the blower cage and the housing. If the cage is contacting the housing, replace the blower assembly.
