A/C - Seat Heater Button Sticks on Trim Plate

SUBJECT
Seat Heater Button Sticks on Trim Panel

MODEL
E70 (X5)

SITUATION
The seat heater buttons may stick on the trim plate when pushed in.

CAUSE
The button to trim plate tolerance is incorrect.

PROCEDURE
Verify the complaint by pressing the seat heater button on the end nearest the trim panel. Follow the procedure below if the button sticks.

1. Remove IHKA (Integrated Automatic Heating and Air Conditioning) control panel.





2. Remove the trim that surrounds the IHKA control panel buttons.
3. The affected areas of the trim panel are indicated in the illustration.





4. Cut away some of the excess flashing from both areas of the panel as indicated in the illustration. Take care not to damage the front trim area.
5. Reinstall the trim on the IHKA control panel and retest the switches for proper operation.
