Lumbar Support Inoperative

MODEL
E70 (X5) produced up to April 2007 and equipped with Lumbar Support, option code SA 488

SITUATION
The lumbar support feature on one or both of the front seats may stop working.

CAUSE
Felt may have been placed over the valve unit for the lumbar support inducing the failure.

CORRECTION
The valve unit will need to be replaced.

Vehicles produced from April 2007 do not have this felt installed.

PROCEDURE
Replace the valve unit of the affected seat (PN 52 10 7 039 190) per repair instruction RA 52 14 060.
