23 00 123 - Installing replacement transmission (GS7S47BG SMG)





Important!
After completing work:
- Carry out adaptation using DIS Tester, refer to "Service Functions" in DIS Tester.
- Teach in clutch valve characteristic value
- Adapt SMG transmission completely
- Teach in clutch slipping point
- Check transmission oil level Service and Repair.
Use only the approved transmission fluid.
- Read out fault memory and clear entered faults.
Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious damage to the manual transmission.





Important!
After the running-in phase of 2000 km it is essential to carry out a transmission oil change Service and Repair.

Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious damage to the manual transmission.





Recycling:
Catch and dispose of escaping transmission oil. Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Drain off Service and Repair transmission oil.
- Remove transmission Removing and Installing Transmission (GS7S47BG SMG).





Modify following parts to new transmission:
- Release bearing and release lever Removing and Installing/Replacing Clutch Release Bearing/Lever.
- Modify cover caps.
- Ball pin and spring wire clip.
