Convertible Top Deck Lid: Adjustments

41 63 068 - Adjusting convertible top compartment lid





Read contents of Body, General Service Precautions.
The E64 gap dimensions serve as the basis for adjustment work.

Note:
Following components must be correctly fitted and adjusted:
- Rear lid Adjustments
- Convertible top compartment locks Adjusting Left or Right Convertible Top Compartment Lid Lock

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove rear water gutter trim Removing and Installing/Replacing Rear Middle Water Gutter Trim (Rear Lid)





Important!
Only open convertible top compartment lid and rear lid individually.
Risk of damage!





Adjusting hinges:
Open rear lid.
Slacken nuts (1).
Adjust convertible top compartment lid (2) in longitudinal direction.
Tighten down nuts (1).
Tightening torque 51 17 2AZ 51 17 Flaps.

Note:
Height adjustment of convertible top compartment lid to side panels by means of spacer plates.

Close rear lid.





Adjusting locking bracket:
Open convertible top compartment cover.
Slacken nuts (2) on brace (3).
Fold convertible top compartment lid down onto convertible top compartment locks.
Adjust brace (3) at sides so that rotary latches engage locking brackets in center.
Adjust height differential of convertible top compartment lid with spacer plates (1).
Tightening torque 51 17 5AZ 51 17 Flaps.
If necessary, adjust convertible top compartment locks Adjusting Left or Right Convertible Top Compartment Lid Lock.





Installation:
Adjust rubber seal on convertible top compartment lid trim Removing and Installing / Replacing Trim on Convertible Top Compartment Lid.
