Removing and Installing / Replacing Left or Right Seal on Convertible Top Compartment Lid

51 17 010 - Removing and installing/replacing left or right seal on convertible top compartment lid





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove trim on convertible top compartment lid Removing and Installing / Replacing Trim on Convertible Top Compartment Lid





Carefully pull left/right seal (1) off trim (2) in upwards direction.

Note:
Clean adhesive residue with adhesive remover (sourcing reference: BMW Parts Service).

Important!
Adhesive areas must be dry and free of dust and grease.
Once it has been cleaned, do not touch the adhesive area with bare hands.





Installation:
Stick double-sided acrylate/polyester film (sourcing reference: BMW Parts Service) to shaded area (1) of seal (2).





Pull off liner (protective strip for adhesive surface) and stick seal (1) on convertible top compartment lid trim (2).

Important!
Seal (1) must be fitted flush with convertible top compartment lid trim (2).
