Special tools required:
- 33 4 153 33 4 150 Removal and Installation Tool
- 33 4 154 33 4 150 Removal and Installation Tool
- 33 4 155 33 4 150 Removal and Installation Tool
- 33 4 271 33 4 270 Fixture
- 33 4 272 33 4 270 Fixture
- 33 4 274 33 4 270 Fixture
- 33 4 275 33 4 270 Fixture





Warning!
Danger of explosion!

Do not point air jet from hot air blower at fuel tank!





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Lower rear axle carrier Lowering/Raising Rear Axle Carrier





Withdrawing rubber mount:

Assemble special tools 33 4 154 33 4 150 Removal and Installation Tool, 33 4 155 33 4 150 Removal and Installation Tool, 33 4 272 33 4 270 Fixture, 33 4 274 33 4 270 Fixture and 33 4 275 33 4 270 Fixture as illustrated.

Check installation position of special tool 33 4 274 33 4 270 Fixture to rubber mount and 33 4 272 33 4 270 Fixture to bearing bushing, correct if necessary.

Using a hot air blower, heat bearing bushing at max. 600 °C outlet temperature for approx. 2 minutes.

Pull out rubber mount by turning special tool 33 4 155 33 4 150 Removal and Installation Tool.





Drawing in rubber mount (view from below):

If necessary, apply a marking to special tool 33 4 272 33 4 270 Fixture.

Coat rubber mount with Circolight anti-friction agent (refer to BMW Parts Service) and insert in special tool 33 4 272 33 4 270 Fixture.

Important!
Arrows or stops (2) of inner sleeve must point in vehicle longitudinal direction (F) when rubber mount is installed. A maximum deviation (A) of ± 7° must be observed.

Align rubber mount using arrows or stops (2) to marking on special tool 33 4 272 33 4 270 Fixture.





Assemble special tools 33 4 154 33 4 150 Removal and Installation Tool, 33 4 155 33 4 150 Removal and Installation Tool, 33 4 271 33 4 270 Fixture, 33 4 272 33 4 270 Fixture as illustrated.

Check installation position of rubber mount to marking on special tool 33 4 272 33 4 270 Fixture, correct if necessary.

Align special tool 33 4 272 33 4 270 Fixture using marking to vehicle longitudinal direction, fit on rear axle carrier and screw on special tool 33 4 153 33 4 150 Removal and Installation Tool.

Check installation position of special tools 33 4 272 33 4 270 Fixture and 33 4 153 33 4 150 Removal and Installation Tool, correct if necessary.

Draw in rubber mount by turning special tool 33 4 155 33 4 150 Removal and Installation Tool.
