Rear-Compartment Controller, Supply

Rear Controller

The rear controller serves as a central control element.

Brief description of components

Rear controller
- The rear controller is located at the front end of the center armrest. It is connected by means of a ribbon cable to the center console switch center control module (BZMF). From a functional point of view, the BZMF has nothing to do with the controller. The bus leads from the K-CAN SYSTEM, positive and ground supply are only looped through the BZMF. The positive and ground connections to the controller are split between three separate leads in order to keep the continuous current load at the connector within the permissible limits.
- Operation is by means of a rotary push button, which can also be shifted from a resting position in 8 directions.
- Variable tactile feedback for Controller rotation When the Controller is rotated for the purposes of selection functions, it provides tactile (i.e. tangible) feedback. Inside the controller there is a DC motor which is controlled by pulse-width modulation (PWM) signals.

Main functions
The rear controller and rear interior display can be used to operate the following functions/display the following information:
- Radio
- The drive installed in the audio system controller (CC, CD, MD)
- CD changer
- Tone settings for vehicle loudspeakers and headphones
- TV settings
- DVD changer

The strength of the tactile feedback differs according to the menu option. For example, between lists, function blocks or shield areas and end stops.
