Removing and Installing/Replacing All Handbrake Shoes

34 41 220 - Removing and installing or replacing all handbrake pads





Special tools required:
- 34 4 000 34 4 000 Allen Key





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove rear brake disks Removing and Installing/Replacing Both Rear Brake Discs.
Observe safety instructions on raising the vehicle 00 .. ... Lifting Vehicle With A Lifting Platform.
After completing tasks, adjust parking brake Adjustments.





Disconnect return springs with brake spring pliers.

Installation Note:
Check recoil springs and replace if necessary.





Twist clamping pins with special tool 34 4 000 34 4 000 Allen Key through 90° and disconnect.
Remove brake shoes.

Figure illustrates right side: left side is mirror image of this.

Installation Note:
Note installation position of adjusting screws (1) and (2).

Coat threads of bushing (1) and screw (2) with grease,
