Antitheft - Replacement CAS3 Calibration Error Message

SI B 61 27 06

SUBJECT
Replacement CAS3- Calibration Error Message

MODEL
E92 (3 Series)

SITUATION
After installing a replacement CAS3 (Car Access System 3) control module, and performing programming and coding using Progman V23, the Final Report shows the following message: "Calibration not successful. Diagnostic trouble code 98 (EDIABAS)- SYS- 008: Job not found".

However, the engine starts and runs normally.

CAUSE
With the new improved security protocol in the CAS3 between the embedded EWS4 (Electronic Immobilizer 4) and the DME (Digital Engine Electronics), alignment of the EWS and DME is no longer required on E92 vehicles. However, when programming and coding using Progman V23, the program attempts to run the alignment but cannot find the relevant file, resulting in the above error message.

CORRECTION
This error message can be ignored.

The problem will be corrected with a future Progman version.
