Removing and Installing/ Replacing Airbag Module for Driver's Knee Protection


Special Tools Required:
- 00 9 317


Warning!
Read and comply with safety regulations for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnical belt tensioners.
Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Service and Repair
- Remove trim panel for pedal assembly. Service and Repair





Release screws (1).

Installation:
- Replace screws.









- Tightening Torque, 72 12 19AZ.

Unlock plug connections (3) and disconnect.

Lever out airbag module for driver's knee protection (4) with special tool 00 9 317 at holding points (5) and remove.

Important!
Always replace airbag module for driver's knee protection completely.
Do not carry out any repairs to the airbag module.





Installation:
- Make sure retainers (1) are correctly seated on associated locators on airbag module (2).
- Replace retainers (1).
