^ Carry out wheel alignment check.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
^ Remove coil spring.
^ Press output shaft out of drive flange.
^ Disconnect handbrake cable from wheel brake.
^ Remove lip.
^ Disconnect ABS pulse generator line.
^ If necessary, disconnect lead for brake lining wear indicator.
^ Disconnect brake lines from trailing arm.
^ Remove brake caliper and tie back.
Mark position of eccentric screw (1) to control arm with center punch (2) (simplifies subsequent camber adjustment).
Release nut (1) on trailing arm and remove eccentric bolt.
Installation:
Note insertion direction of screw.
F = direction of travel
Fit eccentric washer (2).
Unfasten nut and remove screw.
Installation:
Note insertion direction of bolt.
F = direction of travel
Mark position of bearing pedestal (1) to body (2) with colored mark (3); this simplifies subsequent toe-in adjustment.
Unfasten screws.
Note: Damaged threads in body-side sleeves can be repaired with M 12x 1 5x 18 Helicoil thread inserts. Install Helicoil thread inserts so that they are flush with original thread.
