Replacing Bottom Left Control Arm

33 32 086 Removing and installing/replacing bottom left control arm

Important: After installation:
^ Check output shaft for correct seating in final drive.
^ Carry out chassis alignment check.

Necessary preliminary tasks:
^ Remove wheel.
^ Remove final drive.





Support trailing arm from underneath using a workshop lifter.
Spread plastic panel and remove from control arm.
Installation: Opening in panel pointing upwards.





Mark position of eccentric screw (1) to control arm with center punch (2) (simplifies subsequent camber adjustment).





Release nut (1) on trailing arm and remove eccentric bolt.
Installation:
Note insertion direction of bolt.
F = direction of travel
Fit eccentric washer (2).






Release bolt on rear axle carrier and remove.
Take off control arm.
Installation:
Insert thread plate (1) into opening in rear axle carrier.






Installation:
Weld seam of control arm must be at top.
