51 71 482 Removing And Installing/Replacing Left Or Right Tension Strut (On Rear Axle)

Special tools required:
- 00 9 120

IMPORTANT:
- Vehicles must not be driven without tension struts.
- Driving without tension struts may damage the vehicle body.
- Tension strut screws must be tightened to torque and then tightened down with special tool 00 9 120.







Release screw (4).
Release screws (1) and nut (3) and remove tension strut (2).

Installation:
Replace screws (1) and nut (3).
- Insert screws (1).
- Tighten down screws (1) to specified torque and then to angle of rotation.
5AZ Reinforcing plate/ tension strut to rear axle
M10
Note: Replace screws
59 Nm
Note: Jointing torque
90°
Note: Torque angle
- Tighten down nut (3) to specified torque.
7AZ Tension strut to rear axle 24 Nm
Note: Replace nut
- Tighten screws (4)
