Replacing Front Axle Support

Important:
After installation:
^ Align front axle.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
^ Secure engine in installation position.
^ Unscrew and remove splash guard.
^ Remove reinforcement plate.
^ Unfasten left and right engine mounts from front axle support.
Remove ride level sensor from front axle support.
Remove control arm bracket from engine support on left and right.
Tightening torque: M10 10.9 56 Nm. (Replace screws).
Damaged threads
Unscrew left and right nuts. Strike off control arm ball joint with plastic hammer.
Installation:
Remove grease from pin and bore. Replace self-locking nut.
Force ball joint upwards with a transmission lifter and base 11 7 360; this makes it easier to tighten down the nut.
Tightening torque: M14X1.5 80 Nm.
Remove steering gear from front axle support
Installation:
Replace self-locking nuts.
Tightening torque: M10 42 Nm.
Support front axle support centrally in area (A) with garage jack.
Detach front axle support from engine support on left and right and remove front axle support.
Installation:
First tighten down both rear screws (1).
Tightening torque:
M12 10.9 Replace screws 100 Nm.
M10 9.8 Replace screws 47 Nm.
M12 8.8 Replace screws 77 Nm.
M10 8.8 Replace screws 42 Nm.
M12 12.9 Replace screws 105 Nm.
