Removing and installing/replacing right output shaft bearing pedestal

Note:
After completing work, check front axle differential fluid level.
This operation is described in "Removing and installing front axle differential", refer to Differential Assembly, Service and Repair.

Caution:
Use only the approved gear oil in this front axle differential.
Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious damage to the differential!





Note on E53:
Output shaft is not pressed out of drive flange.
Output shaft (1) and swivel bearing (2) remain together as a single unit during removal and installation.

Remove right output shaft. This operation is described in "Removing and installing left or right output shaft", refer to Axle Shaft Assembly, Service and Repair.





Replace sealing ring (1) on bearing block (2).

Note:
Coat new sealing ring with gear oil.
