Replacing Shift Arm For Shift-Lever Mount

25 11 211 Replacing shift arm for shift-lever mount

Necessary preliminary tasks:
^ Remove shift lever.
^ Support transmission with hydraulic lifter.





Release screws and remove cross-member (1).
Tightening torque:
M12 74 Nm.
M10 41 Nm.
M8 21 Nm.





Release screws on propeller shaft center mount (1).
Lower transmission.





Use a screwdriver to lift out spring (1) from the lug (2) on the housing and swivel upwards.





Remove bearing pin (1).

Installation:
Grease bearing pins (1).
Grease,
refer to BMW Service Operating Fluids.

Note: Do not remove support bearing (1).
Do not remove shift arm (2) from support bearing (1).

Installation:
Grease bearing pin of shift arm.
Grease,
refer to BMW Service Operating Fluids.





Note: If bearing bush is damaged: replace bearing bush.

Press out bearing bush.
Coat new bearing bush with circo light and then press into shift arm until side flanges of bearing bush protrude uniformly.
