Replacing Pipe (Air Line) For Air Spring to Air Reservoir

Removing And Installing/Replacing Left or Right Pipe (Air Line) For Air Spring to Air Reservoir

Caution:
Disconnect fuse on air supply system so that there is no unintentional system regulation.
In area of air line connections, extreme cleanliness must be ensured during removal and installation.
Even small dirt particles can cause leakage in the system.

Note:
Left and right pipes differ:
Pipe with red protective cap = left;
pipe with blue protective cap = right.





Remove trunk floor trim.
Press plug-in coupling (1) of air spring downwards, keep snap ring (2) pressed with pliers and pull off plug-in coupling towards top.
Push protective cap onto connection.





Remove trunk floor trim.
Release screw fitting (1 ) on plug-in coupling of air reservoir.

Caution:
Union nut must not be detached from line! This would destroy the line!

Press plug-in coupling (2) downwards.
Press together snap ring (3) and pull off plug-in coupling.
Remove pipe.





Install new pipe and make sure it is correctly laid.





Check correct seating of sealing rings (1 - 2) of pneumatic spring and air reservoir.

Caution:
Do not under any circumstances grease sealing rings.





Attach plug-in coupling to air reservoir, ensuring that snap ring snaps audibly into place.
Remove complete screw connection (1) (incl. toothed ring),
refer to Assembly Instructions For A New Tube (Air Line) and New Screw Connection, and fit pipe.





Attach plug-in coupling (1) to air spring, ensuring that snap ring (2) snaps audibly into place.
