Replacing Wiring Harness Section For Ignition Coil



Replacing Wiring Harness Section For Ignition Coil (N62)

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read out fault memory of DME control unit
- Switch off ignition
- Follow instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery
Disconnect battery negative lead from battery and lay to one side

NOTE:
The procedure is identical for both sides.
The illustrations depict the left side.

Work step Note:
Remove heater bulkhead
Remove acoustic cover
Remove ignition coil cover.
Remove electronics box cover.
Unclip cable duct.
Unlock plug connections on ignition coils
and disconnect. Do not remove ignition coils
This work step is described in the section "Replacing ignition coil".
Unlock and detach plug connections on DME
control unit. Only plug connections of wiring harness section for ignition coils







Release nuts and remove holder (1).







Release screws and remove grounding cable.
Unclip and remove wiring harness.

NOTE:
Check stored fault messages.
Now clear the fault memory.
