Oil Separator: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation of Oil Strainer for Engine VentOil seperator layout
Oil Separator location on intake manifold.
Crankcase vent system hoses.
Hose routing and connections on the intake manifold.
Hose routing under the intake manifold.
Oil Separator shown with cold climate wrap.
Removal
Remove / Disconnect:
- Front seal on heater closing panel.
- Rear seal on heater closing panel.
- Microfilter cover.
- Side air ducts.
- Heater closing panel with microfilter.
- Air hose at mass air flow sensor.
- Connector at mass air flow sensor.
- Threaded connectin for air cleaner housing.
- Air cleaner housing assy.
- Manifold cover.
- Suction jet pump on mounting bracket.
- Vacuum line at intake hose.
- Lower intake hose at throttle valve.
- Fuel tank vent valve on mounting bracket.
- Connector on resonance flap.
- Plug connector at idle speed actuator.
- Threaded connection, cable duct at manifold.
- Plug connector at throttle valve.
- Throttle valve with gasket.
- Breather hose from oil seperator on cylinder head cover.
- Breather hose on oil seperator.
- Oil seperator block on manifold.
- Hose at oil seperator.
- Oil return hose at oil seperator.
- Line at oil seperator.
- Oil seperator on manifold.
- Carefully disconnect crankcase vent hoses and remove the Oil Separator. Be careful to not break connecting clips.
Note: Check crankcase vent hoses and fittings for damage. Replace as nec.
Installation
- Reinstall Oil Separator in reverse order.
